Please Continue Call-In Campaign to Governor Christie - from NJCVC

VACCINATION CHOICE SUPPORTERS KICK OFF NEW LEGISLATIVE SESSION WITH CALL-IN CAMPAIGN TO GOVERNOR CHRISTIE!

Vaccination Choice Supporters will be working again this year for the right to Conscientious Exemption from state-mandated vaccines.

Assembly Bill A243*, allowing for Conscientious Exemption from Mandatory Immunizations has been filed with the new General Assembly for 2010 by the bill's primary sponsor, Assemblywoman Charlotte Vandervalk, (R), District 39.  (*Please note the new bill number for this session. A Senate companion bill has not yet been filed.)

CHRISTIE'S CAMPAIGN PROMISE:  "I have met with families affected by autism across the state and have been struck by their incredible grace and courage. Many of these families have expressed their concern over New Jersey's highest-in-the-nation vaccine mandates. I stand with them now and will stand with them as their governor in their fight for greater parental involvement in vaccination decisions that affect their children."

IT'S TIME FOR GOVERNOR CHRISTIE TO MAKE GOOD ON THAT PROMISE!

JOIN THE CALL IN CAMPAIGN!  MARK YOUR CALENDARS!  WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10th, & TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16th 2010 FROM 9AM-5PM!  MAKE THE CALLS! (*NOTE: the scheduled call in dates are to generate a concentration of calls for impact on a given day, however, it is important to make these calls whenever and however often you can!)

GOVERNOR'S OFFICE:  phone-609-292-6000; or you can fax your opinions, 609-292-3454 or 609-292-5181; also, email at http://www.state.nj.us/governor/

STEP ONE:  Call the Governors office (609-292-6000) and express your support for vaccination choice in NJ.  Here are some talking points.  Feel free to emphasize these points or to tell your own personal story about why we need conscientious exemption from state-mandated vaccines.

1. Tell the Governor you want him to make good on his promise to give parents more involvement in vaccination decisions for their children by forwarding the passage of the Conscientious Exemption Bills. Ask Governor Christie to publicly support our bill in the legislative session and to put a supporting statement up on his website.

2. Tell The Governor you would like a moratorium on our "highest-in-the-nation" state-mandated vaccines until the current childhood vaccination schedule has been PROVEN SAFE and EFFECTIVE.  a) people increasingly report acquiring diseases they have been vaccinated against (Chickenpox, Influenza are common); b) many, many others escape illness despite NEVER having had a vaccination. This calls into question the effectiveness of vaccines at preventing disease. ALSO, b) links between our State's autism rate, the increased rate of chronic childhood illness and an overzealous vaccination schedule must be examined. Tell him to meet with the leaders of the Vaccination Choice movement in NJ to discuss how parents can gain more control over vaccination decisions for their children.

3. Tell the Governor you want him to a) remove the Public Health Council's ability to forward mandated vaccines without legislative review; b) lift the mandates on the current, bloated vaccination schedule and submit a revised schedule to the legislature to be voted upon.

STEP TWO:  Identify your local district representatives (two Assembly representatives and one Senator) and make the calls to them as well as asking them to sponsor and support the conscientious exemption bills.  Tell your representatives that you want them to sign onto A243 (for assembly reps) in support of Conscientious Exemption to mandatory vaccines. (When a senate companion bill is introduced, the senate reps should sign onto that Senate bill.)  The following link will bring you to a list of towns.  Click on your town and your three reps will show up.  Click on them individually for contact information.  http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/districts/municipalities.asp

STEP THREE:  Help the New Jersey Coalition for Vaccination Choice expand its grassroots base by bringing your friends and family into our information circle!  njvaccinationchoice.org   PLEASE SIGN OUR ONLINE PETITION!
